Your hiking boots are ready, the bike is waiting – and sometimes all it takes is the urge for a cappuccino in town. Around the Sonnenberg, you can make every holiday day different.
Hiking high above the valley, cycling between orchards or strolling through Merano's lanes: from our campsite in Partschins, you can discover the variety of South Tyrol. And in the evening, you return to your pitch with a view.
From the campsite, your next day in the mountains is not far away: the nearby Texelbahn cable car takes you up to Giggelberg and straight onto the Merano High Mountain Trail. Whether a scenic hike or a stop at a mountain inn with panoramic views – up there, your break from everyday life begins.
Fresh air on your face, orchards along the way and a relaxing break now and then: on the Vinschgau cycle path, you can discover the landscape along the Adige river. Take a trip towards Merano or explore the valley towards Naturns.
A walk along the Passer, a stroll under the arcades and a cappuccino in between: Merano invites you to a relaxed city visit. By public transport, you can reach the spa town even without your own car – and then return to your holiday pitch on the Sonnenberg.
First you hear the roar, then the view opens up to the plunging masses of water: the Partschins Waterfall is an impressive destination right on our doorstep. The water falls down a 97-metre rock face – a nature experience you can combine with a hike.
It doesn't have to be a summit every day. Along the Partschins Waalweg, the gentle babbling of water accompanies you through the landscape. Follow the historic irrigation channel, enjoy the views and take time for the little discoveries along the way.
Between palm trees, blossoms and mountain views, your path leads through the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano. Discover plants from all over the world and find your favourite spot for a break along the way. In the castle, the Touriseum vividly tells the story of tourism in South Tyrol.
By public transport: first travel to Merano. From the station, bus line 4 takes you directly to the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle. You can find your current connection at südtirolmobil.
